MP Matikashvili welcomes President Trump’s congratulatory letter to Georgian president

“The congratulatory letter from President Trump, along with his positive attitude towards the country’s president, the Georgian government, and the Georgian people, is appreciated,” said Davit Matikashvili, a member of the parliamentary majority.

According to Matikashvili, “it appears that Georgian-U.S. relations will soon take a positive turn, based on real partnership and mutual benefit—not merely symbolic ties, as was the case under the previous administration.”

“We have always expressed ideological alignment with the United States and its new administration. We are ready to begin a new chapter in our longstanding relationship. Georgia has consistently been a loyal partner to the U.S. in the South Caucasus, and history offers many examples of this.

We sincerely thank President Trump for his Independence Day message and look forward to building a stronger, mutually beneficial partnership,” he added.

U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the letter to Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, congratulating the country on its Independence Day. According to the Georgian President’s press service, Trump emphasized his administration’s commitment to strengthening peaceful and productive relations with Georgia.
