Mariam Jashi, a Georgian politician and senior policymaker in Global Health, Sustainable Development and Innovative Financing has been appointed as General Secretary of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA).
Mariam Jashi is the lawmaker of the 9th Convocation of the Georgian parliament. She was the chairperson of the parliamentary Education, Science and Culture Committee and Deputy Health Minister. She also served as a scientific projects consultant at the UNDP and UN Women.
Medical Women’s International Association is a non-governmental organization founded in 1919 with the purpose of representing female physicians worldwide.
