MP Botchorishvili to APF: Killing of Georgian near ABL reconfirms Georgia's vulnerability without NATO/EU umbrella
The killing of a Georgian citizen by Russian occupying forces is another reminder of what the occupation is what Georgia copes with daily, said Maka Botchorishvili, Chairwoman of the Georgian parliamentary European Integration committee, at the 35th regional gathering of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF) in Athens, Greece.
“This demonstrates how vulnerable we are when we are under the umbrella of neither NATO nor EU to unite us with the democratic world despite our European aspirations. Georgia does its best to resolve the conflict peacefully and maintain peace. The life of every citizen is valuable to us. The international commonwealth should take more measures to protect the international order and stop aggression,” she said.
A Georgian citizen, Tamaz Ginturi, was killed during his illegal detention in the occupied territory of Kirbali village, and another Georgian citizen was abducted on October 6.
