MP Botchorishvili: It’s up to Georgians to decide their future, not Lithuanian President
Maka Botchorishvili, chair of the European Integration Committee, asserted that it is the sovereign right of the Georgian people to choose their government, responding to comments made by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda.
Nausėda highlighted the significance of the upcoming elections in Georgia, suggesting that maintaining the current status quo could hinder the country’s progress toward European integration.
Bocthorishvili criticized the remarks from foreign leaders, stating, “It is an abnormal situation when the leaders of other countries make so many comments about who should be in power.”
She emphasized that “it is the sovereign right of the Georgian people to have the government they choose, and it is not up to the president of Lithuania to decide,” calling for respect for international norms and principles.
