Minister of Internal Affairs meets with locals residing at occupational line
Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia visited Khurvaleti village which is adjacent to the occupation line and met with locals and the Ministry employees.
According to the Internal Affairs Ministry (MIA), Gakharia was personally informed by the population of several villages about the recent situation.
“Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs – Giorgi Gakharia, together with First Deputy Interior Minister Kakha Sabanadze, Deputy Minister Vladimer Bortsmadze and Governor of Shida Kartli region, Giorgi Khojevanishvili, visited the village of Khurvaleti, near the occupation line, met with the local population and talked about security challenges. The Minister was personally informed about the situation on the ground.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, along with other officials of the Ministry and representatives of the local government, talked to the family of Vanishvilis, who remained outside the dividing line in New Khurvaleti. David Vanishvili, 86, talked to the guests about the difficulties he and his wife face every day from the occupants.
Giorgi Gakharia visited the Nardabazi checkpoints of Khurvaleti and Eredvi Regional Division. At the meeting with police officers of the Special Tasks Department, the Minister emphasized the importance of creating the safest environment for the local population and the importance of the rational response to the existing challenges,” the MIA reports.
