Minister of Economy says government has clear plan for Anaklia port development
The government has a clear plan for the Anaklia deep-port development, said Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
According to the Minister, the government used the year 2022 for meetings with potential investors to analyse the port’s potential and to update the consultative work.
Levan Davitashvili went on to say that the process to select a private investor is underway and many interested leading port operators actively exchange information with the Property Management National Agency, the government will then finalize the proposal conditions based on state interests.
“The agency will establish a state-owned company this week that will start updating the documents on the environmental impacts to begin works for this year. This will be a part of the joint campaign through which we will select a private partner. We have a clear plan for Anaklia development and we are following it,” he said.
