Michael Roth urges Georgians to join pro-European parties or start one

The Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag and a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Michael Roth, praised Georgian people “for demonstrating on the streets for freedom and democracy and for a European Georgia.”

In his Facebook post, Roth called on “to join pro-European parties or start one. Working for political change in a parliamentary democracy is the best job in the world.”

“Dear Georgians, thank you for demonstrating on the streets for freedom and democracy and for a European Georgia. Politics is a difficult business. But politics is not dirty. But sometimes politicians are. I know what I’m talking about. But without political engagement, democracy dies. Please join pro-European parties or start one. Working for political change in a parliamentary democracy is the best job in the world. Georgia deserves it!” he stated.
