MIA releases statement about hostage-taking fact in Zugdidi

Ministry of Internal Affairs released the information about hostage-taking fact by an armed attacker in Bank of Georgia in Zugdidi town of Samegrelo region.

According to MIA, the special operative-investigation activities are still ongoing actively at the crime scene. All the 43 hostages are released and transferred to a safe place.

The MIA calls on everybody to refrain from distributing unverified information that may impede the work of law enforcers. “The ministry will release additional information later,” MIA said in a statement.
