MIA launches investigation into incident at CEC

Based on the report of the Central Election Commission, the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation under Article 118 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to causing less serious body injury to health committed on purpose.

During the summarizing session of the conducted elections in the building of the Central Election Commission, Davit Kirtadze – the representative of the Unity-National Movement coalition splashed an unidentified liquid to the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Giorgi Kalandarishvili.

An investigation is underway regarding the fact and all relevant investigative actions will be implemented in the course of the investigation.
