MIA deported 42 foreign nationals from Georgia

Last month, officials from the Migration Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) deported 42 foreign nationals from the country under the Georgian Law on the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons.

According to the MIA, some of the individuals left Georgia voluntarily, while others were forcibly expelled as a result of measures implemented by the Migration Department.

The deported individuals included citizens from Turkmenistan, Iraq, Turkey, India, Iran, Nigeria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Jordan, and Pakistan. Reports indicate that these foreign nationals were involved in various anti-social activities within Georgia.

“The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is tasked with combating illegal migration within the country. One of its primary responsibilities is to identify foreign nationals residing in Georgia without legal authorization and to facilitate their deportation,” stated the MIA.
