We call on the representatives of the political party and their supporters to protest peacefully, refrain from violent actions and do not interfere with the police in the judgment enforcement, a statement by MIA reads.
“Public is aware of the arrest ruling made by the Tbilisi City Court Judge Nino Chakhnashvili on February 17, 2021, regarding Nikanor Melia. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will enforce the judgment. According to the Georgian Constitution, court decisions are obligatory to all citizens. Non-compliance with the court decision or obstruction of its execution is punishable by law. Ministry of Internal Affairs urges the political party representatives and their supporters to protest peacefully, avoid violence, and do not prevent police in the ruling enforcement. Police will prevent any attempted violence, those who infringe public order will be held accountable,” the statement reads.
