“We have already pulled the country out of the swamp once and we will rebuild it again, and serve the people by learning from the past mistakes,” said Levan Khabeishvili, chairman of the United National Movement party during the event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the “Rose Revolution”.
Khabeishvili noted that ” Georgia deserves to be successful.”
At today’s event, MEPs Anna Fotyga and Andrius Kubilius made video addresses.
“We stand by you and support the Georgian people’s will to become free, independent, full of hope in a peaceful world,” Fotyga said.
“I would like to congratulate the Georgian people and the opposition on the recent achievement, the European Commission’s positive recommendation to grant Georgia the candidate country status. This is a strategic step forward not for the Georgian government, but for the Georgian people,” Kubilius noted.
