MEP Valle: We have to speak out against following blindly NATO and US Policy
“The people who will govern Tbilisi should not be decided by the United States or any other power. That the people itself should decide,” stated MEP, Della Valle, during the debate on Georgia in the European Parliament.
“When the group is majority, this parliament tackled foreign policy issues, all the dual standards and the hypocrisy of the European Union come to the surface. Georgia is a country which is approaching the EU. It started the accessioned procedure. This really triggered considerable enthusiasm among all citizens, which we have bound to appreciate. This is a process, which is an opportunity to enhance our presence in that area and to improve dialogue and strengthen our diplomatic ties.
Now with the war in Ukraine, people want to impose a certain geopolitical vision on countries, such as Georgia, dictated by NATO and the United States. And this, in turn, could have an influence on finance, should unconditional finance, depending on the victory of whatever party at the elections. Now this is a manipulation, and I think that we have to speak out against following blindly NATO and U.S. Policy. Europe must try to build peace, cooperate, and establish a dialogue at the regional level.
The people who will govern Tbilisi should not be decided by the United States or any other power. That the people itself should decide,” he declared.
