MEP David McAllister encourages Georgian NGOs for "remarkable courage," says "continue to do so"
“Dear visitors and guests from Georgia, let me say, that you and all your friends have shown remarkable courage and determination in your peaceful efforts to defend democracy, the rule of law, and the European future for your country,” MEP David McAllister addressed to representatives of Georgian non-governmental organizations who are in Brussels and attending a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
According to McAllister, presence at the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament sends a strong and powerful message that the Georgian people remain committed to European values.
“Let me add, you are not alone. We are with you. Thank you for being here and for all that you have done for Georgia and continue to do so,” McAllister concluded.
Representatives of Georgian non-governmental organizations, including Eka Gigauri, Nino Lomjaria, Nino Evgenidze, and Ketevan Khutsishvili, as well as civil activists Lasha Bughadze, Beka Korshia, and Keti Kerishvili, who addressed yesterday’s Human Rights Subcommittee meeting, are currently present at the European Parliament.
