A meeting about Drug Policy reform in Georgia was held in Tbilisi earlier this afternoon. Representatives of executive authorities and authors of the draft-bill introduced attendees from non-governmental organizations with the details of the proposed changes.
Authors of the draft-bill claimed that the purpose of the reform is transformation from punishment attitude onto prevention.
Initiators of the draft-bill prepared by Drug Policy National Platform in the parliament are 5 Majority MPs. However, the document is the subject of difference in opinions among members of the ruling team.
Committee hearings over the draft-bill will begin starting next week.
