Mayor Kaladze: Bidzina Ivanishvili has already been de facto sanctioned
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze says the honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, has already been de facto sanctioned.
“We see constant blackmail, with the candidate status, opening/not opening negotiations, and sanctions, which is unthinkable.”
Bidzina Ivanishvili was completely occupied with good deeds, including charity in Georgia, numerous projects and charitable events, however, the most important step taken by him was in 2012, when he entered politics and won.
This person serves the country, the Georgian people, and this attitude will continue in the future,” said Kakha Kaladze.
The Mayor of Tbilisi expressed hope that ties with the United States will be reset under the incoming administration.
The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed financial sanctions on Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream ruling party.
