Mayor: Everyone's rights are protected, regardless of their religion, sexual orientation
“The law on family values and the protection of minors serves only to ban LGBT propaganda in the country and is not aimed at restricting the rights of sexual minorities,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze responded to the MEPs statements demanding the cancellation of the mentioned law.
Kaladze stressed “Everyone’s rights are protected in the country, regardless of their religion, and sexual orientation.”
According to the Mayor, “LGBT propaganda is categorically unacceptable, both among teenagers and children.”
“Donald Trump, who has conservative values, won the US presidential elections. Let’s wait. Many things will change in various directions,” he noted.
As for the opposition’s position regarding the mentioned law, the Mayor stated that “they know the public’s stance well which is why they cannot express an opinion against the law.”
