May 17 legally declared a holiday

As per the Law On Family Values ​​and Protection of Minors, May 17 is legally declared a holiday to mark  ‘family purity and respect for parents.’

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili signed the relevant decree on Thursday.

Papuashvili said, “This law protects the rights of all citizens, including freedom of expression so that the rights of other people are not violated.”
