Man who attacked MBC sentenced to imprisonment

Tbilisi City Court sentenced Levan Zurabashvili to imprisonment as a measure of restraint.

The judge granted the motion of the prosecutor’s office.

The defence asked for Zurabashvili’s release on 1,000 GEL bail.

According to the official information, on November 20, on Tsereteli Ave, Tbilisi, Levan Zurabashvili, armed with grenade and firearm, broke into MBC building and took 11 hostages and voiced three demands in the video.

Levan Zurabashvili’s psychiatric examination has been scheduled.

The investigation has launched under the second part of Article 144 of the Criminal Code.
