Mamuka Mdinaradze – During the briefing held at U.S. Department of State the importance of second round of elections was stressed
Mamuka Mdinaradze, a member of Georgian Dream Party said that during the briefing held at U.S. Department of State, evaluations were made regarding the 2020 parliamentary elections in Georgia.
According to Mdinaradze, the importance of the second round of elections was stressed through which the rest of the mandates have to be distributed.
As Mdinaradze said, the U.S. Department of State believes that the process has to continue in contested and free environment.
“This is a clear signal for our country and first of all, for the opposition. They have to prepare for the run-off and relocate the process into the constructive regime, reject their radical agenda, respect the free choice of voters and represent their standpoints from the floor of the supreme legislative body,” Mdinaradze stated.
The U.S. Department of State held a briefing to report about the details about the forthcoming visit of Mike Pompeo, U.S. Secretary of State to Georgia. Talks were also held about the Georgian Parliamentary elections.
