Mamuka Khazaradze: Meetings with President aim to calmly and peacefully achieve new elections

Leader of the Strong Georgia coalition, Mamuka Khazaradze, emphasized the goal of securing new elections during his visit to the Orbeliani Palace, stating, “These meetings aim to calmly and peacefully achieve this objective.”

Khazaradze reiterated the opposition’s demands for scheduling new elections and releasing those detained during protests.

“We recognize only the President of Georgia as our legitimate authority. The demand is clear: set a date for new elections and release all political prisoners and individuals who have been tortured. An international investigation has confirmed cases of torture against protesters. We urge this illegitimate government to act immediately and release these young people,” he stated.

This meeting aims to calmly and peacefully work toward new elections in Georgia. Together with the public, the international community supporting this protest, and those opposing the fraudulent elections and Russian interference, we strive for change. These gatherings are dedicated to achieving new elections through peaceful and constructive dialogue,” Khazaradze stated.

Meanwhile, opposition parties and representatives from the non-governmental sector are meeting with President Salome Zourabichvili at the Orbeliani Palace.
