Mamuka Bakhtadze: Peace and development have no alternative in the fight against occupation
Occupation of territories of Georgia – our historic land – dates back to much earlier – early 90’s. It was only continued in 2008, – stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia at the Mukhatgverdi Cemetery of Military Service Brothers when answering questions posed by journalists.
In the opinion of the Head of Government of Georgia, grave mistake made by the political authority of the time included inadequate and inaccurate labeling of the topic.
“Occupation of our territories and eviction of the Georgian population started in early 90’s and it only grew into the next stage in 2008. It is a very big pain for each of us. Occupying country was long preparing for this and sadly it was all very vivid. People who speculate with this topic damage the national interests of our country. Occupation of our territories started well before early 90’s. Everyone should make conclusions. I wish to tell the population that peace and development have no alternative in the fight against occupation. It is the road essentially leading to the much craved goal of full de-occupation of Georgia”- concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.
