Representatives of the Parliamentary Majority met with delegation members of Venice Commission, an advisory body of the Council of Europe, composed of independent experts in the field of constitutional law, at the parliament building in Tbilisi.
According to the Press Service of the Georgian Parliament, the sides discussed a concept of the reform of Criminal Procedure Code of Georgia. The reform aims at merging investigation and prosecutor authorities on a legislative level.
The changes are proposed within the framework of the reform ongoing in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and are targeted at improvement of investigation quality.
