Magdalena Grono replaces Toivo Klaar as EU Special Representative for South Caucasus
Czech diplomat Magdalena Grono will assume the role of the EU’s special representative in the South Caucasus and Georgia. The permanent representation of the Czech Republic in the European Union shared this information on the social network X.
According to their reports, the EU Council will officially approve Magdalena Grono’s candidacy.
“Political and Security Committee just confirmed the appointment of Magdalena Grono as EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Georgia. The nomination will be formally confirmed by the Council of the EU. Big congratulations and best of luck in the new role!” the information reads.
Magdalena Grono will replace Estonian Toivo Klaar. In April, the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borrell, nominated Toivo Klaar as ambassador to Uzbekistan.
