Lithuania’s ex-FM: Georgia’s occupation to be most painful example of lessons not learned
Georgia’s occupation and the ineffectiveness of international efforts are the most painful example of recent ‘lessons not learned’, said Linas Linkevičius, former foreign minister of Lithuania.
“Russia’s war against Georgia 13 y ago, occupation of 20% of its territory and the ineffectiveness of international efforts are the most painful example of recent ‘lessons not learned’ which later paved the way for the annexation of Crimea and ongoing aggression in Donbass,” Linas Linkevičius tweeted.
Leaders of Georgia’s friend countries released statements on the 13th anniversary of the August 2008 Russia-Georgia war.
