Lithuanian President says Georgian legislative amendments distance country from European ideals
“Legislative changes proposed in Georgia clearly demonstrates that the country, which aspires at drawing closer to us, alienates from European ideals,” said Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda at a joint press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda, as reported by the Lithuanian Public Broadcaster.
According to Gitanas Nausėda, the proposed amendments obstruct the country’s uninterrupted path towards European integration.
“These events are regrettable. The planned legislative amendments clearly demonstrate that the country which is close to us alienates from European ideals and this obstructs the country’s uninterrupted path towards European integration. We should react on this,” he said.
