Lelo's Khazaradze: Our hard-won freedom is again at risk; it's time for Georgian unity

“On March 31, 1991, the population living throughout Georgia’s territory changed the country’s history and unanimously decided to become an independent, sovereign state!” writes Lelo leader Mamuka Khazaradze on social media.

“It has been 34 years since the referendum on the restoration of Georgia’s independence. This was the great path of the Georgian nation, with sacrifice, lost territories, destroyed families, and displacement, but still the most glorious history in the post-Soviet space of preserving the national idea and embarking on the development path!

Another proud page of this history was the devotion of those hero soldiers in the August 2008 war who gave their lives to protect our country from the Russian boot.

Today, Russia, through an anti-state commission created in the illegitimate parliament, with its ‘viceroys’ and red commissars, is trying to rewrite this proud history!

Today, freedom won with blood is again in danger! Today is again the time for unity of the Georgian people! We are a nation born for victory. It will inevitably be so! Georgia is an independent, sovereign state! Complete boycott of the Russian Dream’s Russian commission! Russia is the enemy! Antsukhelidze is immortal!” writes Khazaradze on social media.
