Lelo's Gegelia: Strong Georgia not focused on local elections, prioritizes to achieve new parliamentary elections

“We have a clear position on local elections—this is not a topic we are discussing or interested in from any angle,” Grigol Gegelia, the opposition Lelo party member, stated.

“A political party must always be prepared—whether it’s an election, a rally, or a battle on the domestic or international front. As part of the Strong Georgia coalition, we are always in shape and ready. No trick planned by Georgian Dream can shake us. That’s exactly what drives this regime mad—they haven’t been able to do anything against us. We stand firm. Unlike them, we are principled and committed to serving this country,” he said.

Gegelia also noted that he sees no major disagreements within the opposition regarding local elections.

“There’s no significant division. Some parties express their views differently or prioritize other issues tactically, but this is neither disagreement nor fragmentation. Our coalition doesn’t see the local elections as a relevant issue. Therefore, we are focusing on what we believe truly matters—new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners,” he added.
