Lelo leader: New pro-Western government to complete Anaklia port

“Senator Shaheen is right—Ivanishvili’s pro-Russian and pro-Chinese regime has deprived Georgia and the entire region of a once-in-a-century opportunity,” Lelo leader Mamuka Khazaradze wrote on social media.

According to Khazaradze, the government has derailed Georgia’s strategic development by confiscating American and European investments and handing the Anaklia port project to a company controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.

“The Anaklia Deep Sea Port was a missed opportunity that could have transformed the Caucasus into a key transit hub between Central and East Asia and Europe. I believe this setback is only temporary. Once political prisoners are freed and democratic parliamentary elections are held, a new pro-Western government will complete the Anaklia port,” he stated.
