Leader of Parliamentary Majority – Insinuations invented by occupational regime regarding Vazha Gaprindashvili’s issue are improper and incorrect
If Vazha Gaprindashvili participated in conflicts in any period as a doctor, I am sure he will be ready to provide medical assistance to anybody – Leader of the parliamentary majority Gia Volski said when commenting about imprisonment of Georgian Doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili.
According to Volski, insinuations invented by the occupational regime regarding Vazha Gaprindashvili’s issue are improper and incorrect.
“I know many people in occupied Tskhinvali region and participate in negotiations with many of them. I don’t have friendly relations with anybody but Caucasus nations and ethnic groups are united around certain traditions and among them are Ossetians, Georgians, Abkhazians and others. There is dignity that any person has to maintain at any confrontation,” Volski said.
Leader of the parliamentary Majority said that Gaprindashvili was a brave person having dignity and that he had taken an oath as a doctor to help people in any situation.
Tbilisi-based doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili, who was illegally detained by Russian occupation forces near the occupation line with Akhalgori Municipality, has been sent to two-month pretrial detention, on November 15.
Vazha Gaprindashvili was reportedly charged with “illegally crossing the border” under article 322 of the criminal code of Russia. Tbilisi activated the hotline mechanism of EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM).
