Lawyer: Saakashvili will be released or parliamentarians will post bail for him

“We are preparing for every possible scenario and will protest any decision, because the case is entirely fabricated”, – the lawyer of Georgia’s former President and ex-governor of Odessa Mikheil Saakashvili made the regarding statement during the rally in Kiev, Ukraine today.

According to him the defense side will request Saakashvili’s released from the courtroom.

“After the court session Saakashvili will be released or parliamentarians will post bail for him, will be released on bail or be remained imprisoned.

As media reports, the Prosecutor’s Office plans to file motion for house arrest as preventive measure but we have not seen any procedural document so we cannot trust them.

Therefore, we are preparing for every possible scenario and will protest any decision, because the case is entirely fabricated”, – he said.

The lawyer explained that, they have evidences which prove that the law enforcement officers breached the law during arrest and search activities.

Mikheil Saakashvili, former President of Georgia and ex-governor of Odessa remains in pre-trial detention. He was arrested on December 8.
