The work of Georgia-Azerbaijan State Border Delimitation Commissions is ongoing in strategic partnership spirit, and gaining an advantage by any of the sides is not on the agenda – Lasha Darsalia, Deputy Foreign Minister said.
“The 70% of work is more or less agreed and there are 10-12 sections, including the territory adjacent to Davit Gareja monastery complex, which will be discussed by taking interests of both countries,” Darsalia said.
Next meeting will be held next week. The meeting between Chairpersons of State Border Delimitation Commissions took place on May 14 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
According to Georgian Foreign Ministry, representatives of Georgia and Azerbaijan underlined that any provocation regarding Davit Gareja, a rock-hewn Georgian Orthodox monastery complex located in Kakheti region of Eastern Georgia, was unacceptable.
Foreign Ministry reported that the sides agreed to guide with strategic partnership spirit during the delimitation process and expressed readiness for upholding construction attitude in leading of negotiations.
