Lasha Darsalia – No works should be ongoing at Davit Gareja territory until delimitation commissions complete work
There are several sections across Georgia-Azerbaijani state border on which delimitation commissions of the two countries have not made a decision yet – Lasha Darsalia, Deputy Foreign Minister said.
According to Darsalia, 1/3 of the state border still has to be agreed with the Azerbaijani side and expert groups will continue working on the field at David Gareja, a rock-hewn Georgian Orthodox monastery complex located in the Kakheti region of Eastern Georgia.
“No works should be ongoing at Davit Gareja territory until delimitation commissions complete their work,” Darsalia said when commenting about the fact of deployment of heavy vehicles and underway works of a road by the Azerbaijani side.
The next sitting of delimitation commissions is expected to be held within 1-month term.
