"KazTransGas-Tbilisi” released a statement in connection with Didi Dighomi explosion

The company “KazTransGas-Tbilisi” released a statement in connection with the explosion which occurred at Avtandil Street in Didi Dighomi district of Tbilisi on January 16.

According to the statement, the company received two notifications through hotline from citizens about the smell of gas in an apartment building in the Didi Dighomi district on January 16, 2019.

“The notifications were responded by the qualified and experienced specialists of the company’s emergency service. They checked the places indicated in the notifications, as well as the elevator and the wells located nearby the building with special device GASURYYOR 3-500, which could not detect any gas leakage”, – the statement reads.

“The causes of the explosion are unknown to us at this stage. We would like to note that in order to establish the causes of the accident, LLC KazTransGas-Tbilisi closely cooperates with the investigation. The company is interested in conducting the investigation fully and objectively,” – the company added.
