Kakha Imnadze – Russian citizens can arrive in Georgia but they have to select transport means, we will not welcome Russians driving tanks
Kakha Imnadze, Georgian Ambassador to the United Nations claims that ethnic cleansing of Georgians still continues across the occupied regions.
“Ethnic cleansing aims at creation of destabilization in the region and forcing Georgia to swerve from its chosen way, which is based on equality and democratic principles,” Imnadze said.
When talking about Georgian-Russian relations, Georgian Ambassador to UN said that despite Russian policy, Russian tourists could travel to Georgia freely.
“Russian citizens can arrive in Georgia freely but they have to select the corresponding transport means, we will not welcome Russians driving tanks. Georgia and Russia are neighbors and this will not change.
Georgia wants normal relations with Russia but this does not mean that we must be menaced. We have sovereignty and independent policy directed to integration into European Union,” Imnadze said.
