Inmates in Georgia will have the chance to continue learning at the university level as Justice Ministry offers the e-learning in prisons under the Digital University project, in cooperation with Georgian universities, Minister Rati Bregadze said on Friday while presenting an annual report at Parliament.
On top of that, Bregadze vowed that “ensuring labour freedom is one of the top goals for the Ministry, including the sharp rise in the number of inmate workers.”
“Targeted programs, training courses and active cooperation with the private sector will increase the number of inmate workers. Moreover, a new facility will open shortly, allowing inmates to sell their products,” Bregadze stated.
