Judoka Tato Grigalashvili secures first victory at Paris Olympics, qualifies for 1/8 finals
Georgian judoka Tato Grigalashvili, a three-time world champion in the 81 kg category, secured their first victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics by defeating his opponent Mihail Latisev from Moldova.
This win qualified him for the 1/8 finals, where he will compete against Vahid Borchashvili from Austria.
However, debutant Eter Askilashvili (63 kg) lost to a Slovenian rival and exited the competition. As of now, the Georgian Olympic delegation has not yet won any medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
