Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations says that everything is going well with regard to Georgia’s visa-free regime. The Commissioner told reporters ahead of the opening of the Ministerial in connection with the 10th anniversary of Eastern Partnership in Brussels.

“Today we celebrate ten years since the establishment of a very intensive partnership. Over the past few years, we have particularly activated the Eastern Partnership from a political point of view. In parallel, we have very individual bilateral relations with each country. In general, I think that we’ve given a big boost to economic development, communication, and contacts between people. I think that 20 set tasks are already giving the results. We still have to work in the field of better governance, but Rome wasn’t built in one day”, – Johannes Hahn said.

At the same time, when asked about the possibility of suspension of the visa-free regime, Johannes Hahn said that now everything is going well with this regard.

In connection with the 10th anniversary of Eastern Partnership (EaP) ministerial will be opened in Brussels today. The Eastern Partnership (EaP) ministerial meeting will bring together EU foreign ministers and their counterparts from the six Eastern Partnership countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. Georgian delegation is headed by the PM Mamuka Bakhtadze.
