James Appathurai: At NATO Ministerial we will agree on new steps for cooperation with Georgia
At the NATO Ministerial, we will agree on new steps for cooperation with Georgia, on the Black Sea security, – James Appathurai, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia made this statement after the NATO-Georgia Commission session.
“We had a very important meeting. The Foreign Minister presented Georgia’s foreign policy priorities, however, of course, the main focus was on the Black Sea security.
There are very obvious reasons why the security situation is important not only for Georgia, but also for the NATO alliance, and one more reason why we have been cooperating for many years to deepen our relations in the Black Sea region.
Next week, the security of the Black Sea will be one of the main topics at the NATO Foreign Ministerial, and we will agree on new steps for cooperation with Georgia, on the Black Sea security. The new steps will be focused on the border, ground and air environment and practical cooperation. We will take very practical steps, to do a lot together”, – James Appathurai said.
