Jailed Saakashvili congratulates UNM's new chair on his election, offers support from Ukraine and elsewhere
Levan Khabeishvili, the new chairman of the United National Movement, thanked imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili for his support on social media, saying he had received a letter from Saakashvili.
“A letter from the third president while imprisoned and in the worst possible condition. Thank you to the President for his support and kindness. I am committed to fighting uncompromisingly and valiantly for Misha, Nika, political prisoners, and our country’s freedom,” writes Levan Khabeishvili, who publishes Mikheil Saakashvili’s letter, reading: “I consider you to be my closest friend and a promising politician. I will not engage in any political activities in Georgia, but you will always have my support from Ukraine and elsewhere.”
