Jailed ex-president: West urges Georgians to fight, stands with us!
“Struggle always makes sense. We know what we are going to do, we are set to win, the Georgian people are determined to win, it will not be a victory of one party over another, the elections will have a different meaning,” said jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili via a video-link at today’s court trial.
According to Mikheil Saakashvili, October 26 will be a victory of the future over the past.
“This will be the victory of the Georgian people over Russia and its apostle, Ivanishvili, victory of the future over the past. We are oriented on the future, freedom, and entry of the young generation into politics, all this will happen.
The West tells us to fight and stands with us. They say that without fighting, they will not be able to do anything. But we want to fight and need strength. Violence, which they plan to use, will encounter a firm wall from people and no riot police, rubber bullets or Russian spies will help them because Georgia is as united as ever. No such moment existed before, and October 26 will be the triumph of this unity,” he said.
The ex-president remarked that the dictatorial regime should end peacefully with minimal loss to the country, adding people are “tired of lies and have the right to be outrageous.”
