Jailed ex-president Saakashvili: Being UNM member means enduring persecution and slander
“I saw many responses to my post yesterday and was once again reminded of our people’s strength and loyalty,” former President of Georgia, now jailed Mikheil Saakashvili, expressed his admiration for the resilience of his supporters in a Facebook post.
Saakashvili conveyed his gratitude for their “endurance and unbreakable spirit.”
“I know how difficult it is to be a member of the United National Movement; it means constant persecution, slander, and repression. I am grateful to each of you for your resilience. I love you! I believe that with such unity, we will dismantle the regime!” he stated.
On April 23, Saakashvili warned that the so-called government, implying the Georgian Dream government, is eager to remove the chairperson of the United National Movement, Tina Bokuchava. He urged all party members not to fall for the tricks of the Georgian Dream.
