Jailed ex-President Saakashvili asserts UNM blueprint for reclaiming Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region
“We have a plan in place for the return of Abkhazia, and Tskhinvali is even more straightforward,” stated imprisoned ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili during a video appearance at his trial today.
According to Saakashvili, Lazika will serve as a central hub for this initiative.
“We need to develop Lazika Port, where some hotels have already been constructed, albeit in disrepair. Lazika will become a focal point for attraction. We will modernize Sokhumi like Batumi. And, we will enter Abkhazia with EU passports.
I made a unilateral commitment in 2010 that Georgia would not use force to restore its territorial integrity. Our approach will be peaceful and devoid of disorder. Ivanishvili, the founder of Georgian Dream, is preparing to recognize Abkhazia and South Ossetia, but he will ultimately fail,” he remarked, adding, “We successfully reclaimed Adjara, and we will return Abkhazia as well.”
