Jailed ex-president: If I were "Kotsi", I would seriously think about future after October elections
“After the April 29 gathering, if I were a Kotsi (GD member/supporter), I would seriously think about the future after the October elections,” jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili wrote on the social network.
According to Saakashvili, Georgia’s “failed past” attended the April 29 gathering, while a “bright future” rallied on April 28 in Tbilisi.
“What caught my eye: one-half of the people, who were brought from the regions, did not reach the gathering. Obviously, fewer people were brought to the gathering than the number who voluntarily rallied the day before yesterday.
When Ivanishvili (GD founder) showed up, Rustaveli Avenue lights dimmed, so he could not see the gathering dissolving. No Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Telavi, or Gori were present at the gathering. People from poor villages and predominantly elderly and poor people stood there, those who were socially vulnerable and could not refuse to travel. Many teachers posted that they would not be on Rustaveli Avenue. Thanks to them.
Ivanishvili was obviously angry at the situation, frightened. He threatened with arrests if he lost the elections. Everybody was smiling at the rally the day before yesterday, while everyone was angry or sad yesterday. Georgia’s “failed past” attended the April 29 gathering, while a “bright future” rallied on April 28 in Tbilisi. After the April 29 gathering, if I were a Kotsi (GD member/supporter), I would seriously think about the future after the October elections,” he said.
