Georgia’s jailed ex-president, Mikheil Saakashvili, addressed Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Facebook.
“Whatever hard the developments around Armenia might seem to you, they give a new chance to our region. After some time, we could live like the three Baltic states, with open borders, logistics, financial and energy hubs, and use advantages from each of the three South Caucasus.
With this purpose, we should hurry, forget about hesitation and go all-in. You should demand a pullout of the Russian military base, quit the CIS and Customs Union and apply for EU and NATO membership. You should immediately sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan to green-light Armenia’s foreign policy changes.
You do not lack courage and political bravery. Therefore, I hope you will not allow Putin to destroy your country and explode our region. The threat that faces all of us is absolute and requires immediate action,” Mikheil Saakashvili wrote.
