Jacek Krzysztof -- The place of Georgia is in a big family of European democracies
The place of Georgia is in a big family of European democracies – we are waiting for you and we will do our best to help you, – Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Krzysztof said at a conference organized at the Warsaw Rebellion Museum by the Embassy of Georgia in connection with the 10th anniversary of Russia-Georgia war. The Polish Foreign Minister addressed the participants of the event through a special video recording.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jacek Krzysztof underlined the symbolic importance of holding the event in Lech Kaczynski’s Warsaw Rebellion Museum.”There is no better place to respect all the people who did not think only of themselves despite having power and got involved in struggle for the independence of the country,” he said.
The Minister recalled President Lech Kaczynski’s historic visit to Georgia 10 years ago when Russian tanks were approaching Tbilisi.
According to the Minister, ten years later, the statement made by President Kaczynski on August 12, 2008 in Tbilisi are still important. “Today Georgia, tomorrow Ukraine, the day after tomorrow Baltic countries and then maybe my country – Poland,” he said.
