Italian Embassy to participate in the Check in Georgia project

Tourism is very important for Georgia and I believe that tourism is Georgia’s oil, – said Ambassador of Italy to Georgia Antonio Enrico Bartoli during the presentation of Check in Georgia 2018.

Ambassador thanked the First Vice-Premier, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili for giving opportunity to the Italian Embassy to participate in the Check in Georgia project.

According to Antonio Enrico Bartoli the Italian side participates in organizing many festivals within the framework of Check In Georgia this year and will continue to participate in future.

“Our main desire was to join and cooperate in an event that has not been held in Georgia before and it is an exhibition of world grand master artists. We started with Botticelli and Caravaggio and we continue with  Michelangelo,” – said Antonio Enrico Bartoli.

The Italian Ambassador says that from May to August, in the frame of Check In Georgia, three exhibitions will be held, one of which is the Renaissance period graphic, with the exhibition of works by Leonardo, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Raphael and many other great artists.

The painting Maddona with Child by Titian will be at display; the exhibition of the modern Italian painters will be held. All exhibitions will be opened on May 18 – on the international day of museum. The exhibition in August-September will be dedicated to the Baroque period.
