Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the Government Administration, during the one-on-one meeting in Zagulba Palace, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan congratulated the Head of the Georgian Government on the ruling party’s victory in the recent parliamentary elections, also wishing him success.
Attention was paid to the strategic partnership between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, also projects of regional importance implemented jointly by Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The successful economic, transport, and energy cooperation was pointed out, and the importance of connectivity, and Georgia’s role in this direction, were emphasized.
The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for hosting the Georgian delegation in a superb manner and underlined that the partnership between the two countries enjoys a formidably solid foundation.
Special emphasis was placed on the importance of peace and security in the South Caucasus. The Prime Minister reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to continuously contributing to regional peace and stability.
