Law enforcers continue investigation-search activities in detention of the assailant of Dodo Gugeshashvili, Veteran of Abkhazian War and Colonel of the Georgian Armed Forces, and her son Grigol Gugeshashvili, born in 1985, who was shot dead this morning by 5 bullets inflicted to the head area. Dodo Gugeshashvili and her son were shot from the gun in Dighomi district of Tbilisi near the house, which the mother and son rented.

The health condition of Dodo Gugeshashvili remains grave. The patient was operated on at Ghudushauri Clinic and is now placed at Intensive Therapy Unit. Doctors said that the patient had been shot in the chest area. Dodo Gugeshashvili mentioned the name of the attacker in hospital.

The person who shot Dodo Gugeshashvili and her son presumably was a friend of the family – Mamuka Chelidze, Head of Organized Crime Department of Central Criminal Police of Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) stated.

The shooting team of “Moambe” News Program visited the crime site. Dodo Gugeshashvili headed a non-governmental organization working on Veterans’ Issues. Grigol Gugeshashvili was a photographer. A criminal case is opened into the case on charge of premeditated murder. Law enforcers have already searched the house and Dighomi Park.
