Investigative activities are carried out in 39 wood processing plants
At this stage, investigative activities are carried out in 39 wood processing plants, in addition 20 workshops working without registration have been revealed, – Giorgi Elgandashvili, chief of Tbilisi Main Department of Investigative Service said at a special briefing held today.
According to him, the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance is carrying out activities against illegal forest activities throughout the country.
“The investigative activities launched on July 26 in Imereti, Adjara, Kakheti, Guria, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Shida Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti regions. The same measures were planned in the villages of Chuberi and Khaishi, where local population hindered the employees of the Investigative Service from performing their works. Therefore, Special Task Unit was mobilized in the mentioned villages to ensure safety of Investigative Service employees and to give them possibility to fulfill their work perfectly.
Investigation is underway under 210, 192, 287 prima 1 and 303 Articles of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” Giorgi Elgandarashvili said.
